About Amanda Aronson, M.Ed
Amanda is the Founder and Principal Consultant of StoryB. She supports organizations—and the people who work within them—as a strategic operational consultant and leadership coach. She works with the utmost discretion to improve performance and social impact for motivated teams.
Amanda has worked in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to support societal health in the fields of education, social services, philanthropy, healthcare, and emergency management. She is passionate about human-centered storytelling and happiest when engaged with field work to guide strategic planning, evaluate social impact, and inform program development or policy change.
Civic engagement is important to Amanda.
As a community leader, she currently supports her area as a Board Ambassador for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, a lifeline for many in central Connecticut and one of the first public foundations in the United States. Amanda also serves as Chair of the Foundation’s Catalyst Endowment Fund and was honored to be chosen to Co-Chair its Greater Futures Scholarship Fund Campaign, the Foundation’s first capital campaign in its 100-year history.
Previous community work involved local service as an elected official in the role of Secretary of the West Hartford Board of Education, where she served on the policy committee and as a Board rep during union negotiations. During her term on the Board, she and her colleagues maintained such high levels of collaboration that they were able to pass two unanimous budgets, vote unanimously on all Covid policies throughout 2020-21, retain the CT Superintendent of the Year, and unanimously pass the district’s first Educational Equity Policy. Of all the things she has done in her civic life, that bi-partisan collaboration, when it was needed most, will be among her most valued experiences.
Amanda has also held subcommittee memberships on the CT Governor’s Council for Women & Girls, served as a trained docent at the New Britain Museum of American Art, and supported many nonprofits through board and committee work.
Amanda earned her M.Ed and professional-level teaching certification from Lesley University and her BA in International Studies from Elon University. She is also a graduate of EMERGE Connecticut, which inspires women to seek elected office and manage campaigns.
In her personal time, Amanda can often be found writing, and she spends a great deal of time with her family and outdoors. She has sports to enjoy in every season and loves the arts—but most of all, she is a storyteller.
